Our Search for a Wedding Photographer
So, planning a wedding hasn't been as easy as I thought. There have been many small details that we keep forgetting. Then, of course once we start looking at coordinating rides for the wedding party from the church to the reception, we forget to focus on the big things like the wedding photographer.
Isn't there someone I can just contact on offers.com who can sort this whole thing out for us so we wouldn't have to spend all our time looking? The truth is we really want to get this right. Having great pictures is the last thing we want to skimp on, and they are very important to us. We can't get these memories back, so we'll do what we have to do to make sure that they are captured right the first time.
First, we decided to go with any photographer whose work we had seen firsthand. We had talked to a couple of people who had amazing portfolios, but to me that doesn't prove anything. Anyone can take a good shot over the course of time. What I wanted was someone who had taken great shots all at the same wedding.
The other thing I wanted was someone who would include the negatives in the price. In this day and age I didn't want to have to spend a thousand dollar or more on prints in order to get the negatives. We met a few photographers who were like that, and we gave them the boot right away. It's not that we are trying to be mean but these are our moments and we want them for ourselves. Currently, we are still seeking a qualified wedding photographer and have directed our efforts to looking solely online, which is a lot more convenient. Planning a wedding isn't easy, but I know it will be worth it when our wedding day is perfect.
